From transcript to finished video
A transcript is more than an artifact - in REQO it is the editing interface. Once your file is transcribed, open it in the editor and delete sentences from the text to cut the video itself. Filler words, false starts and rambles disappear without touching a timeline.
The same transcript powers auto-subtitles: style them once and they are burned into your export.
What decides how accurate a transcript is
Not the video. Speech recognition reads the audio only, and resamples it to 16kHz mono before it listens, so a 4K upload is transcribed no better than a small phone clip of the same recording.
What matters is how clearly the voice stands out. A microphone close to the speaker, a quiet room and one person talking at a time give the cleanest result. Music under the voice, a laptop microphone across a room and two people talking over each other are what cost accuracy.
The language is detected automatically. If a recording starts with music or a greeting in another language, set the spoken language in the Captions panel instead, so the first seconds do not decide it for the whole file.
TXT or SRT: which download
Both hold the same words. The difference is whether the timings come too.
An SRT leaves the captions to the player, so viewers can switch them off and the platform can index what was said. When the captions have to look a certain way, or the platform will not take a file, style them in the editor and burn them into the video instead.

Where the audio goes
The transcription runs on REQO's own speech-recognition server, not a third-party speech API. The file is read from REQO storage, transcribed, and the text is saved with your project.
Every word is stored with its own start and end time. That is what lets the editor cut the video when you delete a word from the text, and it is why the captions line up with the speech rather than drifting across a sentence.

Clear speech typically lands well above 95% accuracy, on a par with professional transcription tools. Background noise, heavy accents and people talking over each other are what bring that down.
