Why convert FLAC to AAC?
FLAC compresses audio losslessly: it typically halves the size of a WAV with every sample recoverable bit for bit. Excellent for archiving, awkward for sending, and unsupported by a lot of consumer playback hardware.
The practical problem: Not supported by many phones, car stereos or upload forms. Still several times larger than an MP3 of the same recording.
AAC solves that. Efficient modern codec, standard inside MP4 and streaming.

Does converting FLAC to AAC reduce the quality?
FLAC to AAC is a re-encode, so a small amount of detail is lost. At the default quality level the difference is inaudible on speech, and for music it stays well below what typical playback gear reveals.
How large a file can I convert?
Anything under 1GB per upload, which is more footage in some formats than others. FLAC: Around half of WAV, still large. AAC coming back: Similar to MP3, slightly better quality. For anything bigger, trim or compress it first, both are free tools here.
Is my file kept private?
