Making a loop that does not announce itself
A loop is judged entirely at one moment: the join between the last frame and the first. Everything else can be perfect and a visible jump there is the only thing anyone notices. The trick is to cut where the picture is closest to where it started, which usually means a frame with no movement in it rather than a specific timestamp.
Motion is what gives it away. A locked-off shot of something slow loops almost anywhere; a handheld shot, a pan, or anything with a person moving through frame needs the start and end to line up much more carefully, and is often better cut short than looped long.
Audio is the other tell, and the easy answer is not to have any. Most looping video on the web is silent by design, which is also why it autoplays: browsers allow a muted video to start on its own and block one with sound.
A looping MP4 instead of a GIF
A GIF is the traditional loop and the worst format for it. It holds at most 256 colours per frame and compresses each frame on its own, so a few seconds of real footage is often several times the size of the same clip as MP4, and looks worse. That is why X and most messaging apps quietly turn an uploaded GIF into a video.
On a web page, a looping MP4 behaves like a GIF with four attributes on the video tag: autoplay, muted, loop and playsinline. Muted is what lets it start without a click, and playsinline stops an iPhone from opening it full screen.
