Brighten Video Online - Free

Brightness multiplies every pixel by the same amount. At +20 each one is 20% brighter, so a mid-tone at 50% of white moves to 60%. Because it multiplies, pure black stays black and an already bright area reaches white first. A big lift therefore flattens skies, lamps and windows before it rescues the deepest shadows.

Contrast moves every value away from middle grey, or back towards it. Raise it and the darks get darker while the lights get lighter, which gives a flat, hazy clip its punch back. Lower it and both ends pull in towards grey, which softens harsh light.

Saturation is the strength of the colour, separate from light and dark. Raise it and colours get richer; lower it and they fade. At the bottom of the slider nothing is left but grey, and that is all the Black and white button does.

The three are applied in that order: brightness first, then contrast, then saturation. Contrast therefore works on the picture you have already brightened, so set Brightness first and tidy up with the other two.

The picture beside the sliders is your own clip, not a sample, and it changes while you drag. If the light changes during the video, judge the setting on the part that matters most: what suits the darkest scene can burn out the brightest one.

The download is made from your original upload on REQO servers, with the same three calculations applied to every frame, so the file matches the preview. The frame size, the shape and the length do not change, and the sound stays on the video.
