Edits for desktop is a Mac app that needs Apple silicon (M1 or later). REQO runs in a browser tab on Windows, Linux, a Chromebook or a Mac of any age.
Made for every platform
Edits publishes to Instagram. REQO exports a file for YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn or Reels, or gives you a share link anyone can open, with no Instagram account needed.
It records, not just edits
Screen, camera or both in one click, so a tutorial, a demo or a walkthrough starts in the same tab it is edited in.
Cut by the words
Delete a sentence in the transcript and the video is cut to match. Captions come from the same transcript, free on every plan.

Instagram Edits vs REQO, answered
Is there an Instagram Edits app for Windows or PC?
Not yet. Edits for desktop is a Mac app that needs Apple silicon (M1 or later), and Instagram has not announced a Windows or Linux version. REQO runs in any browser, so it works on a Windows PC, a Linux machine or a Chromebook with nothing to install.
Is Edits for desktop free?
Yes. Edits is free and exports at up to 4K with no watermark. REQO Free exports up to 1080p, 30fps with a small badge; Pro removes it for $7 a month, or a one-off $2 removes it from a single video.
When is Edits the better choice?
When the video is a Reel, you have a recent Mac and you want licensed music and free 4K. Edits is built for exactly that. REQO is the better fit when you work on Windows, Linux or a Chromebook, record your screen, or post somewhere other than Instagram.
Can I make Instagram Reels with REQO?
Yes. Edit on a 9:16 canvas and export a vertical video at 1080 x 1920, ready to upload to Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts. The Crop for Instagram Reels tool sets the shape for you.
Can I start on my phone and finish on my computer?
Edits does not move one project between phone and Mac yet; Instagram says that is in development. In REQO, a project lives in your account, so you open the same edit in the browser on any computer.
Edit on any computer, post anywhere.
Record, edit by transcript and export for every platform, in a browser tab. Free to start.
