No download: it runs in your browser
The recorder uses the screen capture built into desktop browsers, so there is no app, no extension and no installer. It works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer. Phones and tablets cannot share a screen, so on one the page tells you to open it on a computer.
When you start, the browser asks what to share: your entire screen, one window or one browser tab. Add your webcam and microphone, or leave either off.
Sound from your computer comes through that same share dialog. Share a tab in Chrome or Edge, or your entire screen on Windows, and leave the audio box ticked. A single window, or a whole screen on a Mac, shares no computer sound. Your microphone records in every supported browser, and the two are mixed into one audio track.
While you record
Turn on the countdown timer to get a few seconds to settle before capture starts; Esc cancels it. Pause and resume as often as you need, and the pauses are left out of the video.
Keyboard shortcuts keep your hands off the mouse: Space starts and stops, P pauses and resumes, M switches the microphone and V the webcam. Press ? for the full list.
There is no time limit on a recording, on any plan, so a long walkthrough or a full lecture does not get cut off.
After you press stop
The recording opens in the editor in the same tab. There is no file to find and upload again.
Transcribe it and cut by deleting words: the false start, the "um", the pause while you found the right window. Add captions from the same transcript, trim the ends, add music, then download an MP4 or copy a share link that plays without an account.
