Compress a Video for Email

Email is the tightest limit most people hit: Gmail caps attachments at 25 MB and plenty of corporate mail servers stop at 20 MB or less. A one-minute screen recording straight out of a recorder routinely exceeds that on its own.

The reliable recipe is compress hard and drop to 720p, which is what this page pre-selects. If the result is still over the cap, trim the video down rather than compressing further, past a point the picture falls apart faster than the file shrinks.

For anything long, a share link beats an attachment every time: it never bounces, it does not sit in the recipient’s mailbox quota, and you can see whether it was watched.
