When 720p is the right export

720p is the practical choice when the file has to be small: email attachments, Slack uploads, slow connections, or a long screen recording that would otherwise be enormous at full resolution.

At 720p a screen recording can get hard to read if the original UI was dense. Check the text in the result before you send it; if it is fuzzy, stay at 1080p and compress instead.

FAQ

resize to 720p: questions

Is 720p good enough for a screen recording?

For a demo of a simple interface, yes. For dense dashboards or code, small text becomes hard to read, so 1080p plus compression is usually the better trade.

How much smaller is 720p than 1080p?

Roughly half the pixels, and typically 40 to 50% off the file size at the same quality target.

Does the aspect ratio change?

No. The source aspect ratio is preserved, so nothing is stretched or cut. To change the shape of the frame, use the crop tool instead.

Is resizing to 720p free?

Yes. Resize and preview for free, then create a free account to download.
