German is the hardest of these to break into lines
German expansion against English is wide rather than predictable: anywhere from about 10% to 35%, because it depends on how many compounds the sentence forms. A single noun can be longer than a whole English phrase, and it cannot be hyphenated arbitrarily without changing how it reads.
That makes the wrap width the thing to watch. A caption holding one very long compound may need a smaller font size rather than a rewrite, and the editor sizes captions against the frame width rather than a fixed point size, so the change is one control.
Subtitles yes, dubbing not yet
German captions translate, export and burn like any other Latin-script language. What is not available is an AI dubbing voice: the voice set has no German speaker, so this page is about subtitles rather than a spoken track.
That is a limit of the voices rather than of the translation, and saying so here is cheaper than letting you find out after the render.
German subtitle questions
Do German umlauts and ß survive the burn?
Yes. ä, ö, ü and ß are in the caption fonts, so they render in the exported file and in the burned-in video.
Can you dub the video into German?
Not currently. German subtitles are fully supported; the AI voice set has no German speaker, so there is no spoken track to generate yet.
A compound noun is overflowing the frame. What now?
Drop the caption font size, or shorten the line in the captions panel. Both are live in the preview, and neither moves the timing.
Can I export German subtitles as a separate file?
Yes. SRT, VTT, ASS and plain text all export with the German text and the original timings.
