How it works

Merge Videos in 3 steps

  1. Upload your first video

Drag and drop a video file, or click to browse.

  2. Add more clips

Add the rest of your videos - they play in the order you add them. Leave the joins as straight cuts, or pick a transition to go between them.

  3. Merge & download

Sign up free to download the combined video.

What has to match before clips join cleanly

Joining video is not like joining text. Every clip carries a resolution, a frame rate, an aspect ratio and an audio sample rate, and where two clips disagree something has to give at the seam. Merging here re-encodes everything to one set of settings so the output is a single consistent file rather than a stitch that some players handle and others stumble over.

The one difference worth planning around is aspect ratio. A 16:9 clip and a 9:16 clip cannot both fill the same frame, so one of them gets bars or gets cropped. If the clips came from different cameras or different phones, crop them to a common shape first and the merge has nothing left to decide.

Resolution

What happens at the joinEverything is scaled to one size; upscaled clips look softer

Frame rate

What happens at the joinFrames are duplicated or dropped, which can read as a slight stutter

Aspect ratio

What happens at the joinThe odd one out gets bars or gets cropped; fix this before merging

Audio level

What happens at the joinNothing is corrected, so a loud clip stays loud next to a quiet one

One clip has no audio

What happens at the joinSilence is inserted, so the audio stays in sync
FAQ

Questions about merge videos

How many videos can I merge?

Add as many clips as you need, up to 1GB in total on the free plan, since the limit counts the whole upload rather than each file.

Can I mix different formats and resolutions?

Yes. Clips are normalized onto one canvas, so an iPhone clip and a screen recording can live in the same video.

Can I reorder or trim the clips?

Clips are joined in upload order here. For reordering and trimming, open the project in the full REQO editor - it is free.

Can I add a transition between the clips?

Yes. The joins are straight cuts unless you pick crossfade, fade to black or wipe under Transition, with a length of 0.25, 0.5 or 1 seconds. The same transition goes on every join, the sound crossfades with it, and the merged video is shorter by the length of each one, because the two clips overlap while it plays.

Is it free?

Yes. Merge and preview free, and a free account downloads the result. Free exports and share pages include a small REQO badge. Go Pro to remove it.
