When double speed works
Double speed halves the running time: a 10-minute screen recording becomes five. It suits recordings with long, slow stretches (installs, loading, somebody typing), where viewers would skip ahead anyway.
Speech at 2x is quick but still followable for most people, because the sound keeps its pitch instead of rising. If the voice matters more than the time saved, 1.5x in the panel is the easier listen.
